DeChambeau No. 5 in world, No. 2 in Ryder Cup points

Bryson DeChambeau climbed to No. 5 in the official world golf rankings and No. 2 in the points race for the United States Ryder Cup team following his victory at the U.S. Open.

DeChambeau rose four spots in the world rankings to tie his previous career high, passing Collin Morikawa, Webb Simpson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.

Tiger Woods fell another spot to No. 22 in the world after missing the cut at Winged Foot.

Dustin Johnson retained the top spot with his tie for sixth. He also leads the U.S. Ryder Cup points list, followed by DeChambeau, Morikawa, Koepka and Justin Thomas.

The 2020 Ryder Cup was postponed to next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
