CALOOCAN CITY, June 6 (PIA) -- Joint Task Force Covid Shield (JTF CV Shield) commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar on Friday said the Philippine National Police (PNP) still implements maximum tolerance amid the lockdowns since March.

During the Laging Handa Public Briefing, Eleazar said more than half the total of persons accosted due to lockdown violations were set free as the PNP recorded 191,000 violators of community quarantine measures in the country.

"In fact kahit napakaraming violators na ina-accost natin. Ang point natin compassionate, maximum tolerance an gating pinaiiral. Nakita naman po natin 'yan hindi lamang during this pandemic kung hindi kahit naman dati pa at sa mga susunod na panahon," the official said .

He also said the police force recorded fewer lockdown violators as the country eases on the lockdowns and the economy begins to open up.

Except for Metro Manila, Pangasinan province, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Central Visayas, Davao City, and Zamboanga City, which are under general community quarantine (GCQ), all areas in the country are under the more relaxed modified GCQ beginning June 1.

Meron pa rin tayong mga guidelines and protocols na dapat strictly observed by the public and for us to enforce.

"Hinihimok po natin ang lahat to work together to prevent the new wave and we can go on transition to the new normal.
