Washington D.C. [USA], Feb 12 (ANI): DC Comics fans rejoice! Warner Bros. Has taken a concrete step towards an
'Aquaman' sequel, hiring David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to pen the script.
'Aquaman 2' will be produced by 'Aquaman' director James Wan and Peter Safran, reported Variety.
The film has over-performed for Warner Bros., hitting USD 328 million in North America and USD 784 million internationally.
Currently it is the 21st-highest worldwide grosser of all time.
'Aquaman' stars Jason Momoa as the title character, with Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles.
The original script for
'Aquaman' was written by Johnson-McGoldrick and Beall from a story by Beall, Geoff Johns, and Wan, who also directed both 'Conjuring' films.
Johnson-McGoldrick began working on the script three years ago after reading
'Aquaman' comic books while on the set of 'The Conjuring 2.'
Earlier last week, Warner Bros. had also announced that it was developing
'The Trench', a spinoff horror film to 'Aquaman'. (ANI)
